SEVERANCE AT 30,000 FEET: UNITED ADDS FULL SEASONS OF APPLE TV+ ORIGINALS TO INFLIGHT ENTERTAINMENT

United Airlines is bringing more premium entertainment to its passengers with the addition of full seasons of award-winning Apple TV+ series now available for free on the carrier’s 130,000+ seatback screens and in the United mobile app. Titles include Severance, Shrinking, Ted Lasso, Slow Horses and Silo, with new shows to be added monthly.

The move is part of United’s ongoing investment in its inflight entertainment offering, which includes installing seatback screens in every seat under its United Next growth plan. The airline recently unveiled a new cabin interior featuring Bluetooth-enabled, 27-inch, 4K OLED seatback screens – the largest among U.S. carriers – as it works toward having more than 300,000 screens across its fleet through new aircraft deliveries and retrofits.

“Apple creates groundbreaking original series, and United travelers are going to love watching fan-favorite Apple Originals for free on their next flight,” said Mark Muren, United’s Managing Director of Product, Identity and Loyalty. “We’re setting a new standard for a premium inflight experience, and our first-of-its-kind collaboration with Apple TV+ gives fliers more high-quality content options on the latest high-definition seatback screens.”

Apple TV+’s award-winning lineup will be accessible via a dedicated Apple TV+ channel, with upcoming additions including The Morning Show and Bad Sisters in September. Passengers will be able to enjoy over 250 episodes of TV shows, feature documentaries and films each month. United’s inflight platform also allows travelers to pick up exactly where they left off on a future flight, whether watching on short-haul or long-haul journeys.

This collaboration builds on a history of United–Apple partnerships, including the introduction of Live Activities for iPhone and Apple Watch to provide real-time flight updates, enhanced AirTag bag tracking integration, and the use of iPhone and iPad to mobilise employees for more efficient service.

United operates the largest global route network among North American carriers and is now the world’s largest airline by available seat miles, with hubs in Chicago, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, New York/Newark, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C.
