FedEx Expands Intra-Asia Network with New Incheon–Hanoi–Guangzhou Route

FedEx has strengthened its presence in Asia with the launch of a new weekly flight linking Incheon (South Korea)Hanoi (Vietnam), and Guangzhou (China) — a strategic move aimed at meeting surging demand across the Asia Pacific air cargo market.

The new service, operating every Monday, connects Incheon International Airport (ICN) to Noi Bai International Airport (HAN) in Hanoi before continuing to the FedEx Asia Pacific hub in Guangzhou. According to FedEx, the route reduces transit times by up to one day for shipments from Northern Vietnam to destinations across Asia and Europe, while enhancing reliability and capacity for regional customers.

“This new route significantly enhances logistics efficiency by reducing transit times by one day for shipments from Northern Vietnam to Asia and Europe across all FedEx services,” the company stated. “Improved reliability and increased capacity will benefit customers tapping the Asia and Europe markets, supporting their growing trade needs.”

The announcement follows FedEx’s July launch of its first direct flight between South Korea and Taiwan, a daily service designed to handle growing air cargo volumes in the electronics, semiconductor, and e-commerce sectors. The route connects Incheon Gateway (ICN) with Taipei Gateway (TPE) at Taoyuan International Airport.

“Asia’s trade landscape is evolving rapidly,” said Kawal Preet, President of FedEx Asia Pacific. “We’re responding by strategically investing in our network to create stronger connections for businesses within the region and unlocking new pathways for growth — driven by the diversification of supply chains, rising regional economies, and a dynamic e-commerce ecosystem.”

Both new routes offer time-definite and day-definite services, boosting supply chain efficiency for manufacturers and exporters across intra-Asia, Asia–Europe, and Transpacific trade corridors.

The Asia Pacific air cargo market continues to show robust momentum, supported by peak season demand and shifting trade flows. Intra-Asia trade now represents nearly 60% of Asia’s total exports, while ASEAN has become China’s largest trading partner, with bilateral trade surpassing $962 billion in 2024.
