Success for Sinotruk at Big 5 Construct

Sinotruk International, a global leader in commercial vehicle (CV) manufacturing, made a strong statement at Big 5 Construct South Africa 2025, held at Johannesburg’s Gallagher Convention Centre in June.

The company’s exhibition stand attracted significant attention from industry professionals, showcasing Sinotruk’s commitment to the South African and broader African markets. Speaking to Michael Man, country manager for South Africa, it was clear that the event aligned perfectly with Sinotruk’s strategic ambitions.

“We participated in Big 5 Construct South Africa to strengthen our presence in the South African and African markets, engage with key industry stakeholders, and demonstrate our advanced CVs tailored for the region’s construction and transport needs,” he explained. “South Africa is a strategic hub for African logistics and infrastructure development, making this exhibition an ideal platform to connect with customers and partners.”

At the exhibition, Sinotruk presented a selection of key models chosen specifically for local needs. “We highlighted our Sitrak long-haul trucks, Howo dump trucks, and Howo water tanks, which are engineered for durability, fuel efficiency, and high performance under Africa’s challenging conditions,” Man said. “These models were carefully selected to align with South Africa’s demand for reliable, cost-effective solutions in mining, construction, and long-haul transport.”

According to Man, the response from visitors exceeded expectations. “The feedback was overwhelmingly positive – clients and industry professionals were impressed by our competitive pricing, robust engineering, and strong aftersales support,” he noted. “Many potential customers showed keen interest in our fuel-efficient, low-maintenance trucks, particularly for large-scale infrastructure projects.”

Looking ahead, Sinotruk sees substantial opportunities in the African market. “Africa’s growing infrastructure projects, mining expansions, and increasing intra-regional trade present major opportunities,” said Man. “South Africa, in particular, drives demand for heavy-duty trucks, and we aim to expand our footprint by offering durable, high-value solutions that meet local operational challenges.”
